Keeping our Teens Drug and Alcohol Free

Talk, Monitor & Secure

“It’s never too early to talk about drugs and alcohol, including the facts related to drug and alcohol use and impact on the developing brain.”

Vanessa Dugo, social worker at Northwood Middle School and one of our extraordinary volunteers (see her spotlight below), reminds parents and guardians that keeping our kids alcohol and drug free begins at home.

Conversation starters in CTAD’s Parent Resource Guide (English) or CTAD’s Parent Resource Guide (Spanish) can help you introduce the topic. In addition to engaging in quality time with your children, remember to secure and monitor your supply of alcohol and other drugs to help keep your kids on a drug-free path.
