Summer employment offers many benefits for our teens, including improving time and money management, boosting self esteem, and making new friends.

When your teen shows an interest in a summer job, parents/guardians can help them navigate the process:

  • Discuss their schedule and whether they have the time and and energy for a job.
  • Support the process and let them know rejection is part of it.
  • Set paycheck expectations and help them focus on the benefits of the experience.
