As noted previously, in 2018 teens said that taking alcohol from their parents with or without their permission were the third and fourth most common ways they obtain alcohol. With teens spending more time at home and alcohol sales on the rise, this might increase in 2020.
To address this challenge, local alcohol retailers are displaying posters encouraging parents to talk to their teens about underage drinking and to monitor the supply of alcohol in the home.
Some of the stores who agreed to display the poster and support drug-free teens include: BP in Deerfield, Deerfield Wine & Spirits, Highland Park Food & Beverage, Bucky’s Express in Highwood, Jerry’s in Highwood, Mr. Joseph’s in Highwood and North Shore Wine & Spirits.
